MONDAY, DECEMBER 14TH
West Montrose, Ontario – When it comes to Christmas caroling, West Montrose’s BridgeKeepers have it “covered”. Covered bridge, that is! Tune up your voices for the annual Covered Bridge Carol Sing is set for Monday, December 14th at 7:00 PM in the historic West Montrose covered bridge, with choral group Grand Harmony Chorus leading the singing.
The carol sing has consistently drawn a large crowd to the historic settlement of West Montrose. “This is a trip back in time to a Victorian-style Christmas event,” says event organizer Tony Dowling. “You have the quaint little village of West Montrose, the historic buildings including the iconic covered bridge, and the choir leading the caroling. Add in a hundred or so voices and a dusting of snow… it’s pure magic!”
In the spirit of the season, guests are asked to bring donations of non-perishable food to be contributed to the Christmas Goodwill Food Drive. Caroling begins at 7:00 p.m. Hot cider, hot chocolate, cookies and song sheets are provided. Guests are encouraged to dress for the weather.
Caroling runs from 7 o’clock to 8 o’clock, with socializing and enjoying the evening before and after. Guests should gather by the Olde Bridge Place bed and breakfast.
BridgeKeepers is a community organization founded in 2008, and is committed to “preserving the covered bridge experience”. For more information on the carol sing, contact Tony Dowling at 519-669-8911.
