Our online Christmas show & Auction not only provided much needed financial support to our community, the music we performed also touched the hearts of many around the world.
The co-writer of the song "Candles Long Ago" contacted Jane Stoltz and shared this with her.
Mark Saltzman, co-writer of 'Candles Long Ago' Testimonial
Here's hoping this reaches you.
I'm Mark Saltzman, co-writer of "Candles Long Ago." Your choral version of the song appeared on my screen, thanks to Google search, and, oh, what a terrific Chanukah gift it was!
My co-writer, Glen Roven, left this world in 2018, and I know he would have been just as moved as I was listening to you lovely women sing this song so beautifully. He always said it needed a big chorale arrangement, and that you provided, along with so much heart and warmth.
I wonder if you know that this song originated in Canada? Glen and I were working on a holiday tv special in Toronto when we wrote it for Sharon, Lois and Bram. So in a way, the song has come home.
In any case, happy every single holiday you may be celebrating and I hope your gifts make you as happy as this video made me.
With gratitude, Mark
While we are unable to be together in person, we can still reach out to those in our community and the world.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
